well, hongbao means red packets/envelopes. they're filled with money and were usually given by adults to children or elderly to unmarried juniors or older relatives to younger relatives ^^
they're always presented on chinese new year

i was considered lucky to got one because in our region, usually people who already have a job rarely receive any xD
